One of the most important lessons in the process of transcending negative ego / fear based / separative / dualistic / illusionary / selfish / lower self thinking is the ability to j02554291.jpgtranscend the selfishness, self-centeredness and narcissism of the negative ego mind. The negative ego mind is only concerned with self. It sees itself as just a physical body completely separate from GOD, life and all other people. It sees itself at war and competition with other people. The negative ego lives in a reality of being better than everyone else or worse then everyone else. It is hence prone to jealousy, comparison, judgement, attack thoughts, and conditional love.

In a time when the government circulates disinformation to fight terrorism, and executives at Enron, Tyco, and Qwest manipulated their earnings reports for personal gain, it’s important to remind ourselves of the value of honesty.

Honesty is truth and integrity. If you are honest you avoid becoming mired in fraud, deceit, artifice, and deception. (more…)

Astro Planner for March 2008

Significant days this month: Mars enters Cancer on the 4th, signaling an influx of energy into real estate and matters concerning the home. New Moon on the 7th in Pisces signals a time to finish old emotional business for the year and be ready to begin a fresh new Moon cycle in April. The 8th is a whizbang day with Sun and Uranus doing a two-step to bring surprises–especially to those with strong Pisces planets. Venus softly enters Pisces on the 12th to help us feel more sympathetic for several weeks. She’s followed by Mercury on the 14th; sympathy reigns supreme. Be mindful on the 16th and 17th when you might wait too long to make a decision of importance. On the evening of the 17th and during the 18th all systems are go and it is easy to move quickly. Sun into Aries on the 20th announces Spring, followed by the Full Moon on the 21st. High energy for Easter Weekend follows. The 27th sees a fountain of original ideas to facilitate when opportunity knocks on the 28th. Don’t overdo exercise and be careful when using sharp tools or machinery on the 29th and 30th. (more…)

Purify Indoor Air with Potted Plants

Everyone loves the look of a beautifulj0289676.jpg potted plant inside their home or workplace. Plants add a little bit of nature, color and help us feel relaxed and grounded in any room. But, did you know indoor plants do even more? Indoor plants detoxify and purify the air improving air quality.

NASA discovered a ferns ability to neutralize indoor air pollutants back in the 1980’s. Studies revealed that 50 types of common houseplants absorbed VOC’s (volatile organic compounds)—chemical gases such as formaldehyde and benzene, both classified by the Environmental Protection Agency as known human carcinogens. VOC’s are found in a variety of household items such as furniture made from particleboard, plastic bags, carpeting, household cleaners, cosmetics, computer ink and more. Even worse, VOC’s are not the only common contaminants found indoors. (more…)

The thing that throws most of us Christians is actually thinking in terms of eternity.

Unfortunately, the physical world we find ourselves in is a great distraction from what’s really going on, spiritually. While it’s upsetting to see war or see a loved one die, we have to remember that happened only in the physical world. The physical is just a temporary illusion compared to the vast eternal reality of the spiritual universe. In this article, we’ll consider some of the glimpses into spiritual reality the Bible gives us, so, be ready for your mind to stretch a bit. (more…)

Inflammation is (or should be) a serious concern. It is the cornerstone of cellular aging and the root of chronic disease, j04306221.jpgwhich now affects more than 100 million people in the U.S. alone. But new research shows that eating many of your favorite foods, including cherries, may help quell inflammation and forestall the ravages of aging.

A recent study published in the Journal of Nutrition evaluated the effect of cherries on inflammation. Eighteen healthy men and women supplemented their diets with bing cherries (280 grams/day, or just less than two cups of pitted cherries) for 28 days. Blood samples were drawn and analyzed before and during the cherry noshing, as well as 28 days afterward. (more…)
